Description
Glazing of the Helix-staircase at company B. Braun Melsungen. Glashandel Pritz accomplished two construction stages in the project. The first stage includes the room-high cold-formed glazing that surrounds the staircase. Due to its inclined position of more than 10 degrees, the glazing is considered as overhead glazing. The 21 glass elements were successfully three-dimensional cold-formed and tested by pendulum test and the load-bearing capacity test at the construction site. The glass elements, up to 2.540 x 3.590 mm, were cold-formed up to 430 mm from the plane level. Glashandel Pritz accomplished the balustrade and spiral staircase glazing at the second stage. The assembling of the plane and curved glass elements was realized according to the general building authority test certificate.
